		<description>I would like to comment on the title of the story. Faulkner once mentioned in an interview that the title was allegorical. All he had wanted to imply was that here was a woman who had a tragic life and nothing could be done about it. For Faulkner, offering this woman a rose was like a salute to hardships. I think this straightforward perspective makes the most sense. It also persuades us to indulge in a more compassionate reading and not to judge Miss Emily, and that forget she&#039;s a human being who had a tragic life...</description>
